Tinker’ the Movie Announces Kickstarter Fundraising Gala in Greenville, SC
Crowdsourcing can be a daunting task for creative projects such as films. Many successful Kickstarter campaigns achieve their goals, though presales of an item, book, or new invention. However, what do you do when you try to raise a $100,000 on an independent film and don’t have the backing of a studio or major production Company? You could entice people to buy your DVD. But, you would need to sell 4500 copies at $25 to reach your goal, and still, the overall cost of manufacturing and processing would leave you lacking the funds needed to produce your film. You can always offer the unique and rare opportunity packages to contributors, including set visits, speaking roles as an extra, and associate and executive producer credits for the more expensive packages. For those looking to take part in the RED carpet experience at a coveted film events such as Sundance, Tribeca, AFM or other film festival, these are usually lavished on those willing to contribute to the more expensive packages that are limited to just a few lucky people.
One thing is for certain, you have to be creative and have fun doing it. Since Sonny Marler and Executive Producers Nick and Gretchen Stathakis are from Greenville S.C., we will be hosting a Fundraising Gala at Zen on Main street on August 13th. Food will be catered by Stax’s Original Restaurant. There will be a live painting performance by Jared Emerson, music, and silent auctions by local artists and jewelers, and private computer stations to accommodate people wanting to be a part of this rare film opportunity.
If you are in the area and would like to attend, please RSVP.
